New Blog-My Reboot Journey

I've added a new blog for my juicing journey if you are interested in the details it's here. It is also listed on my sidebar with my other blogs. It's called My Reboot Journey after the program I started with.

So I won't be posting here about the juicing unless I find a good recipe for vegs.

After reading what you are eating for the past week, I'm concerned that you aren't eating any proteins. Without eating any protein, you'll be losing muscle. And protein is what keeps you from feeling hungry.

Jane, Thanks for your concern. There are different opinions on protein. I'm getting mine from nuts and seeds, but also vegs. like kale have protein in them. I was doing eggs and fish but was stalled in my weight loss so I eliminated those and am back to losing. Linda

Of course, I was just going by what you said you were eating. My research says you should be getting a minimum of about 57 gms of protein a day and your menu from the other day only gives you about half. If you are also supplementing with nuts and seeds, you are probably getting more than your stated menu. Being diabetic myself, I find my blood sugar stays more stable when I am getting a ratio of carbs/protein of 3/1 but your body may differ. Keep up the good work. Your efforts are inspiring. Also exercise may initially cause you hunger, but the more muscle mass you have the more calories you will burn. Protein has a lot to do with muscle mass also.

Jane, You sound very knowledgeable. I posted some articles on protein on my Reboot blog that talk about the protein in vegs. They do say diabetic may need more protein than other people. The way of eating is also meant to be for a specific length of time, not forever. After the reboot people generally add more protein and carbs. Everyone is different of course. I'm not sure yet what I will do. I don't want to regain the weight. Linda
