What Is It?

My career daughter and I got together on Saturday for a belated Mother's Day. She gave me this little house that she found in an antique store.

As you can see it is in 3 pieces. On the bottom it says fill 3/4 with hot water and only use tea light. So I filled the roof part with the water and put the candle in the bottom. I figured the water would turn to steam and make it look like smoke coming out of the chimney. My dd thought maybe you added essential oils to the water and used it to scent your house. The problem is the candle won't stay lite. The bottom has holes in it but I'm thinking maybe there aren't enough of them. Any ideas? Have any of you seen one of these before?

We had a lovely day at the beach. It actually hit 70 that day and I got a little bit of a sunburn.

Thankyou

Thankyou to our forces.
In the United States, Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in May. It falls near the end of Armed Forces Week, which begins on the second Saturday of May and ends on the third Sunday of May.[2]
The day was created in 1949 to honor Americans serving in the five U.S. military branches – the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard – following the consolidation of the military services in the Department of Defense. It was intended to replace the separate Army-, Navy-, Air Force-, Marine Corps- and Coast Guard Days, but the separate days are still observed, especially within the respective services.[3]
The first Armed Forces Day was celebrated by parades, open houses, receptions and air shows. In 1962, PresidentJohn F. Kennedy established Armed Forces Day as an official holiday. The United States' longest running city-sponsored Armed Forces Day Parade is held in Bremerton, Washington. In 2012, Bremerton celebrated the 64th year of the Armed Forces Day Parade.[4]
Because of their unique training schedules, National Guard and Reserve units may celebrate Armed Forces Day/Week over any period in the month of May.

The Narrated Bible and Mother's Day

I've been using this bible lately for my reading. I really like it. It is broken up into sections with a little bit of explanation before each section. I started at Geneses which I have read umpteen times but because of the chronological aspect of the bible it feels new. This is a great bible for kids too, not really little ones. I have to admit I've never made it straight through the Old Testament but hope I'll make it this time. I'm doing baby steps just like I do with everything, a little each day.

Happy Mother's Day. My mom has been gone for a long time but I still remember her especially on Mother's Day. She was a florist and so flowers remind me of her. We that are mother's are so blessed, not everyone is so lucky, so I feel grateful today.
