6 Days Til Christmas-Decorating Cookies and Gingerbread House

This has become a tradition. The girls and my dd's come over and we decorate prebuilt (bought at the groc. store) gingerbread houses. This year the girls did cookies and I did the house. We have lots of candy and lots of fun. We always got so frustrated with the frosting they give you with these kits that we brought the new frosting in a can with decorator tips. Much easier.

Hi Linda!

We made a gingerbread house last year. You are right it is a fun family thing to do. Didn't know you could get premade ones! We made ours from scratch. It was an all day project that's for sure. You are a great grandmother!

Darling!! Tomorrow I am giving our little granddaughter a kit to make. My kitchen should look like a disaster by the time we get finished with it.

Dear Miss Linda,

The gingerbread house and cookies look so pretty, as do Auberne` and Chloe! I know y'all had a very fun day together making beautiful Christmas memories! Your tree looks so pretty! I have enjoyed catching up on your wonderful posts! I love your Christmas collections and the Medieval Angel's are beautiful! We LOVE ours!!! Thank you so much!

Thank you for sharing 'staging bookcases," I got some wonderful ideas for mine. I love all the information you share about herbs and spices, too. Oh, so many wonderful things you post about!

I love primitive needlework as well. I have found a few places that sale their patterns on Etsy that I am going to order. I will send the links to you. I think most of them, they can email to you. I love cross-stitching, too. I have seen the Jane Austen inspired needlework also, and would love to give that a go. I hope you will, too, as you stitch beautiful! I am glad you are almost ready for Christmas. I still have some cookies to bake and dip to make and I will cook a nice Christmas dinner on Christmas day. We will have a little Christmas Eve party with lots of goodies. I know you daughter will enjoy the yummy soup!

Merry Christmas to you!
Love,
Paula

Linda, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Time with your daughters and gd's is a gift! My Christmas was wonderful. When I have the energy, I'll post pix of things I made.
I've never made a gingerbread house, I see the kits everywhere! One day that might be a tradition I'll start with my own gchildren!
