Patchwork Pillows

So far I've made two of these. I have one more to go and then I'm going to do some smaller pillows. I love this fabric and the colors and I like the fact that the pillows are kind of clean and modern looking. I've been working on them while I watch the Olympics and also my granny's. I've also been busy cooking. We've been getting some nice weather, I'm wondering if it's too early to stick some pole bean seeds in a pot. What have you been up to? Are you watching the Olympics?

Linda, those pillows are so pretty! What a great way bring some color into your room.

No I really haven't been watching the Olympics. I usually catch the highlights the next day. I don't really like the cold so I've never been a fan of winter sports!

Hi Linda,

I really love the pillows, they remind me that Spring is coming! So pretty.

I love the winter olympics - I have been watching, mostly at night because ice skating is my favorite. I also try to crochet while I watch T.V., I have been making doillies for my daughters, one down, one to go!

It's still too early to put anything in the ground here - I have at least 5 inches of snow on my garden spot! But, getting things started in pots indoors would be a very good idea.

Have a great week-end.

Blessings, Barb

Your pillows are nice and bright.

Watched a few minutes of the Olympics but I'm not a fan. Too much of it is too dangerous for the participants. Too many accidents and injuries.

Barb, I really love the ice skating too.

Porch Days, Yes it can be dangerous, but I think they try to keep it as safe as they can.

I've been loving the Olympics, especially the figure skating. It's exciting to see the athletes in action. They have worked so hard!

So cheerful Linda! We could hold the Winter Olympics here today! Cold and snowy. I love watching Appolo Anton Ohno. Like to watch all the skiing too. Love to hear all the names of the Northern Europeans and listen to them talk. Makes me feel at home! I making a quilt while watching.

Jane, I watch Appolo's races too. Did you hear the story about his father taking him, at age 15 or so, out to a cabin and leaving him to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. After 4 days he decided he skating was what he really wanted to do. He had been skating since he was young but was not putting his all into it. I guess he changed after that. I still want to get back to doing some quilting, but I got side tracked. Linda

Linda,

No, I never heard that. I like to watch the close relationship Appolo and his father have. Isn't it wonderful to have so many interests that we can get sidetracked? I'm also knitting some very complex Norwegian mittens. When I get bored with one, I switch to the other project. Do love your cheery granny squares! Can't wait to see a finished project from them!

Linda, I love your pillows! What a colorful way to decorate, brighten up a room. Where did you get your fabrics? There is a fabric shop in my town with adorable fabrics, but its expensive,6-9 dollars a yard.I know pillows don't take much fabric,so maybe I should go ahead and buy some fabric! Martha stewart had an idea on her show or magazine.Take summer outdoor tablecloth material, and make pillows to go on your porch.Vinyl tablecloths? Anyway, the material is weather safe, and there are alot of cute tablecloth patterns to use. I bought a tablecloth a few years ago to make a few pillows, and have yet to make them! I haven't watched too much of the Olympics this year. I am usually glued to the TV when their on! I might try and watch the womens figure skating, its usually entertaining and elegant!

Becky, I got some of the fabrics at a more expensive store. I just got 1/2 yard each.I think they were near $10 a yard, but it was for my living room and so I thought it was worth it. They really are nicer and look nicer. Then I went to JoAnn's and got some others in 1/4 yard pieces at various prices, but cheaper. Not everything I picked out worked, so later I went back to the more expensive fabrics and got one more. I had the cream quilted fabric. I got it at JoAnn's. It's on all the backs. I'm working on one more and then I want to do some small pillows. My loveseat is deep and one row of pillows isn't enough. Honestly posting here is getting me motivated to do a lot of projects that I normally would procrastinate about. Linda
