How true, although I believe that no prayer goes unanswered, but I understand what he means. We forget very fast the blessings and tend to focus on the negatives. That's why a gratitude journal of some sort is a good idea.

I find as I get older that each tiny blessing is more and more important. I also think that sometimes we think our prayer is unanswered when the answer is not what we specifically asked for. Perhaps our only real prayer needed is to ask for grace...grace to accept what comes to us regardless.
